Staff Spotlights

In this Staff Spotlight, we shine a light on Caitlinn Riedell, one of Caliber’s talented account managers. She has been an integral part of our team for almost two years, and today, we invite you to get to know her, from her dance and athletic background to her passion for serving clients and working with a great team.

Kate: What is your favorite nickname and how did you get it?

Caitlinn: Cait or Riedell are my top nicknames as I’ve had several nicknames throughout the years. Cait is pretty typical but since my friend group has a lot of Kate’s, Kaitlyn’s (all different spellings) my friends call me Riedell.

Kate: Where do you consider “home”?

Caitlinn: I currently live in NYC in the Financial District (otherwise known as FiDi) and have lived here since January 2019. I grew up in Garden City on Long Island, which I will always consider my second home – and visit often.

Kate: What non-work activities inspire you?

Caitlinn: I love to run! It’s a way for me to escape and de-stress. As an athlete, I ran throughout college, but I kept it going post-college and never looked back. I’ve completed several half-marathons and I am excited to share that I’m running in the NYC marathon in November (along with my Caliber colleague Justin Ortiz)!

Kate: If you had to include one ingredient in every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Caitlinn: Tie between chipotle aioli and everything but bagel seasoning from Trader Joe’s.

Kate: What’s your favorite movie and/or book?

Caitlinn:

Favorite Movie: 27 Dresses

Favorite Book: November 9 by Colleen Hoover

Kate: What’s one accomplishment from when you were younger that you still brag about?

Caitlinn: I am proud of a variety of accomplishments. From age three until middle school I did all different styles of dance and danced competitively as well. It became tough to balance dance as well as lacrosse, field hockey and soccer, so I had to make a tough decision to stop competitive dancing after middle school. I then made the decision to try out for my high school cheerleading team and was happy to be captain on the JV and Varsity teams throughout high school. It was an amazing experience in its own right – and it helped me improve my lacrosse skills.

Kate: What’s something your colleagues don’t know about you?

Caitlinn: Most of my colleagues know that I love cats, am a twin and that I played Division I lacrosse for four years at Quinnipiac University, but most don’t know that I had a few injuries throughout my college lacrosse career – I tore my ACL, MCL and meniscus during my sophomore year and then fully tore my meniscus during my senior season and had to get another surgery once the season concluded. Some people think of injuries as a setback, but they really made me stronger, more motivated and molded me into who I am today. And now I’m about to run my first marathon in NYC!

Kate: When you think about your time at Caliber, what career accomplishment or milestone makes you feel most proud?

Caitlinn: As I approach the end of my second year at Caliber, I am most proud of having grown and expanded my network with reporters, which has resulted in great coverage and opportunities for our clients. It’s always rewarding to see an article get published that you helped make happen, from the original pitch to facilitating the interview to potential follow-up questions. Knowing that I helped our client and seeing them pleased with the result makes it even better.

Kate: Name one thing that amazes you about fintech or innovation in financial services.

Caitlinn: One thing that amazes me about fintech and innovation in financial services is the power of mobile technology in democratizing access to financial resources. With the widespread adoption of smartphones and mobile apps, individuals from all walks of life can now conveniently manage their finances, make payments, access banking services and improve their financial wellness. This level of financial inclusion and empowerment has the potential to transform lives and economies on a global scale.

Kate: What’s your favorite thing about working at Caliber?

Caitlinn: The culture and team. Since I joined the Caliber team a year and a half ago, I was welcomed with open arms and have continued to feel valued. I am happy to work each day around such incredible, hard-working people.
