Caliber senior director Elise Ouellette is one of our newest team members, having joined the company in June 2022. She sat down with Caliber culture manager, Kate Forster, to talk about her 20 years in PR and marketing, her interest in fintech innovation and her love of the great outdoors and sports. Read more about Caliber senior director Elise Ouellette in her Staff Spotlight interview below.
Kate: Since we’re currently a hybrid, work-from-home friendly workplace, tell us about “home” for you!
Elise: I grew up in Southborough, MA, but I live in Portsmouth, NH now. I fell in love with the New Hampshire Seacoast area for its proximity to beaches, but also to the mountains. There’s a vibrant restaurant scene, and never a lack of interesting events, live music and festivals.
Kate: What’s your favorite part of your job as a Caliber Senior Director?
Elise: I love working with the talented and passionate people at Caliber. I’ve met many new, amazing colleagues who are welcoming and collaborative. It’s truly a team environment and everyone is so supportive. I’d be remiss to not also mention my clients – I work on a diverse portfolio of clients within fintech that are all doing innovative work. I’m excited to be a part of their teams as well. [Editor’s note: “Passionate” and “collaborative” are two of Caliber’s company values. And, we didn’t even tell Elise to say that!]

Kate: What do you like to do outside of work?
Elise: Well, I love to go out for dinner and cocktails. I’m definitely obsessed with food and love to cook as well. In the summer, I love to go to the beach and in the winter, you can find me on the slopes. I’m not afraid to admit I watch a fair share of movies and TV, too. I’m a big Bravo fan if anyone ever wants to chat Below Deck and Summer House!
Kate: What’s one accomplishment from your childhood that you still brag about?
Elise: I once beat my brother in an epic game of Zimm Zamm…Does that count and does anyone still play that?
Kate: What’s one thing that amazes you about fintech or innovation in financial services?
Elise: It’s amazing to see how many more options the consumer has to learn about and improve their financial health. I’ve worked in B2B tech for many years and have always had an interest in data, analytics, AI and different innovative technology. It’s fun to marry that background with financial services and see how these companies are disrupting and transforming the industry.
