Staff Spotlight: Caliber Senior Director Sarah Weaver.

Meet Caliber Senior Director and resident expert on .5 selfies, Sarah Weaver.
A self-proclaimed “absolute dream to work with,” Sarah brings curiosity, her own brand of dry humor and a love of learning to everything she does — along with a passion for helping clients grow and an equally strong commitment to helping her team do the same. Read on to find out what moment in fourth grade still makes her proud, how ceramic tile nearly broke her and the science fiction author who tops her list of all-time greats.
Kate: What is your favorite nickname and how did you get it?
Sarah: When I started at Caliber in 2023, I had the pleasure of joining an incredible account team where everyone had an assigned nickname. After I was accepted into the nickname club, one was bestowed upon me: Dream. I suppose there was an intended tie to my last name — Weaver — but, I also assume it was because I am an absolute dream to work with. I guess it’s worth mentioning that some people I work with refer to me as “Bunny,” but don’t ask me why (I have a pet bunny).
Kate: Where do you consider “home”? What is special about it?
Sarah: Colorado is my home. I wouldn’t say anything is particularly “special” about it other than it’s one of the most beautiful places on the planet — a literal outdoor playground. Even though I spend most of my time inside watching cleaning videos on Instagram, when I do venture out, Denver does offer a vibrant food and arts scene, plus an oversaturation of breweries.
Kate: What non-work activities inspire you?
Sarah: I’ve been told that I contain multitudes. I find solace in gardening, chess, cooking, home improvement projects/interior design, reading bad fantasy novels and cleaning my bunny’s cage. I also enjoy solo travel, dancing to early ‘00s rap, a spicy jalapeño margarita, going to comedy shows/concerts, playing metroidvania games and rock climbing.
Kate: If you had to include one ingredient in every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Sarah: Cheese. Literally any type of cheese (except blue cheese). Burrata, feta, cotija, pepper jack, brie, ricotta…
Kate: What’s your favorite movie and/or book?
Sarah: My favorite book series is the Farseer novels, which is an epic fantasy by my favorite author, Robin Hobb. It’s only 16 books, so I highly recommend it.
Kate: What’s one accomplishment from your childhood that you still brag about?
Sarah: When I was in fourth grade, my teacher didn’t know how to spell “spaghetti” so she had to get out the dictionary. But before she could find the word, I told her how to spell it. I think she was embarrassed.
Kate: What’s something your colleagues don’t know about you?
Sarah: Last week I was renovating my kitchen and rented a wet saw from Home Depot. While cold tile water sprayed all over me, I sobbed — cutting tiny pieces of pink ceramic tile as my fingers inched dangerously close to the spinning blade. Message me if you want to see the final results.

Kate: When you think about your time at Caliber, what career accomplishment or milestone makes you feel most proud?
Sarah: Helping people grow. I love being a people manager, learning about my direct reports and what makes them tick. I love fostering a safe space to facilitate their career growth, while also creating a culture they are excited to come back to every Monday (and eliminating the Sunday scaries!).
Kate: Name one thing that amazes you about fintech or innovation in financial services.
Sarah: Basically everything. Each day I learn something new, and that is absolutely incredible to me. It’s a constantly shifting and evolving industry full of twists and turns, always keeping me on my toes. I love experiencing the adaptability of our clients and helping them grow within this complex landscape, too.
Kate: What’s your favorite Caliber Perk?
Sarah: My favorite Caliber perk is our unlimited PTO and remote work. As I mentioned, I love to travel and explore new places. Our vacation policy, coupled with the ability to work from almost anywhere, gives me the freedom to do what I love most.
Kate: What’s your favorite thing about working at Caliber?
Sarah: The people. We really hire the best people here at Caliber and cultivate an incredible culture. I have an entire account team whose sole identity revolves around Auntie Anne’s pretzels — based on one inside joke (down with Wetzel’s).
Kate: You lead Caliber’s tech committee and are a co-lead on our DEI committee. What drew you to those roles, and how do they connect to your day-to-day work?
Sarah: I am someone who naturally looks for ways to improve systems and create more thoughtful experiences. The tech committee taps into my love for streamlining our work, problem solving and storytelling through data. While the DEI committee reflects my values and desire to make sure everyone at Caliber feels seen, supported and able to thrive. To me, both committees help shape how we work here and the work we produce. Basically, I nerd out on data and culture (🤓).
Kate: What historical figure do you most admire?
Sarah: Frank Herbert. Dune doesn’t get enough credit for being the total inspiration for Star Wars, but Herbert is (in my opinion) one of the greatest science fiction novelists of all time. Also, Brittany Murphy and Amy Winehouse.
Kate: Looking back, are there any defining moments that helped shape you into the person you are today?
Sarah: I don’t have to look very far back, but having my son and being a mom. Nothing can ever prepare you for it, but it’s life-changing and challenges me each day. Sorry to end on a heavy note.
