Staff Spotlight: Caliber Account Executive
Based in New York City, Caliber Account Executive Shazana Farook joined the team in 2021. She sat down with Caliber Culture Manager, Kate Forster, to talk about her career in PR for financial services and fintech companies. Kate: Since we’re currently a work-from-home friendly workplace, tell us about “home” for you!
Shazana: I grew up in the Bronx, NY and that’s the only place I’ve ever lived! I live with my parents and older brother. Living in the Bronx is great as it’s the home to my dad’s favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees! Sadly, I don’t have any pets, but if I did have one, it would be a dog.
Kate: What’s your favorite part of your job as a Caliber Account Executive?
Shazana: I love that I get to be creative every day when coming up with media strategies and story ideas. It’s also exciting to learn new things about our clients and the fintech industry every day.

Kate: What do you like to do outside of work?
Shazana: Baking! My favorite thing to bake is cupcakes, as you can experiment with different flavor combinations.
Kate: What’s something your colleagues don’t know about you?
Shazana: I like to try food combinations that people find weird and unusual. Example: Bell peppers and cream cheese with hot sauce. Yum!
Kate: Since joining Caliber, what career milestone makes you proud?
Kate: What’s one accomplishment from your childhood that you still brag about?
Shazana: I’ve been an honors student since Kindergarten!
Kate: What’s one thing that amazes you about fintech or innovation in financial services?
Shazana: What amazes me is that there’s always something new being released. I like that the fintech industry is ever-changing. It gives me the chance to think of different ways to help clients stand out from their competitors, such as building brand awareness through executive profiles, media coverage and creative online content.
Kate: If you had to include one ingredient in every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
